Preserve It . . . Canning Corner - Bottled Sloppy Joe's!

Bottled Sloppy Joe's!
This recipe is SUPER GOOD, and having it
ready to go in just minutes is even better!
You will need a PRESSURE CANNER to
Process the
Sweet and Savory Sloppy Joe Goodness
and Seal the Jars.
Here's the Recipe PDF:
We think you'll LOVE these Sloppy Joe's.
This recipe put Henefer on the map and it's a
Henefer Tornament Favorite for sure!
Ingredients:
5 lbs. Ground Beef
3 Cans Tomato Rice Soup
2 Cans Tomato Soup
1 Large Onion
1/2 Chopped Green Pepper
2 pkgs. Sloppy Joe Mix (Manwich Powder)
Directions:
Cook onions and hamburger.  Drain off fat.
Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer.
Fill clean quart jars with completed Sloppy Joe recipe.
Clean the jar rims.
Place clean new jar lids onto jars.
Tighten with lid rings.
Place in Pressure Canner with 2-3 inches of water.
Seal the lid and process for 90 Minutes @ 15 psi.
(Follow the instructions for your canner.)
Don't start the timer until the pressure is right.
Wait for the pressure to come down completely before
opening the lid and removing the jars.
When you're ready for dinner . . . just pour the
Sloppy Joe Mix from the jar into a saucepan
and heat through.
Dinner just got a lot easier!

  1. I love all your posts, of course! It would be handy if you could post the life span on the canning stuff. That way we could write it on the jars as we can them and then there is no guess work.

  2. Your blog is the best! I found you through your My Heart and Home Blog. You are so creative and are making food storage so easy and FUN. I am so excited every morning to get on the computer and check what you have posted and what fun ideas you have. You said that you got the tiles from Walmart for the fish game. Can you tell me what section of Walmart? I walked all over today and didn't find anything. Thanks so much for sharing your talents.

  3. Debbie,
The tiles are in the School Section. You can get them at a School Supply Store too, like Utah Idaho Supply. You can also use the wooden tiles. I got mine from Hobby Lobby, but I've seen them at all of the craft stores. I will be using both types. They both look really cute. (You can paint the wooden tiles to match your project. Way Cute!)
I'm glad to hear you're working on your food storage . . . it just makes me smile.
    Keep up the good work!
