The Tampa, Florida Mission!
This was truly inspired!!!
Chris' really good friend . . . practically a brother,
is serving in the exact same mission and
Chris' Mission President is from Farmington!
NO WAY!!!
I was expecting him to read the entire letter but he
just blurted out, "Tampa, Florida!"
I thought he was kidding and so did his friends mom
who just happened to be recording the whole event
to send to her son. (The almost like-a-brother serving in Tampa.)
We both looked at each other in total disbelief.
I kept asking if he was teasing,
but it was the real deal!
He leaves for the MTC April 20th,
with another friend that lives just down the
street . . . on the same day!
The spirit was so strong in our home and we
knew he was going where the Lord wanted him
to serve.
It was truly an AMAZING night!
And, now for the moment
YOU'VE all been waiting for . . .
Time to announce the Winner!
Kimber my friend
you totally guessed it!
Way to go!!!
Tina and Sawyer 13
YOU WERE SOOO CLOSE!
Congratulations!!!

Yay Kimber!!!
Congrats and have fun. These two years make such a difference in a young mans life!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband served in that mission!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to him! He will love it!
Congratulation! He will have an awesome mission! May your family be blessed!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun playing the guessing game.......but it's SO true!....when those calls are read out.....it is an amazing thing....all the little puzzle pieces, whispers of the pure and sure truths fit all together....you just KNOW it's inspired. I can relate to this in so many ways. It was the SAME for our son. All the little things that connected the dots happened within minutes and even after the first 8 months....they still continue to do so.
I am SO excited for your son and your entire family! THanks for sharing the joy and fun.
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteThank You so much for your comment. The Lord is truly in charge, and the calls that are assigned to each Elder, are nothing short of a miracle. I appreciated all of your comments and well wishes!
I have to say . . . I'm still enjoying the moment! It's amazing to watch the Lord's hand in the big and even the small things . . . just amazing!!!
I appreciate you sharing this moment. It gives me a glimpse into the day my son receives his mission call (any day now).
ReplyDeleteI do have 2 questions.
How long was it from the time he submitted his papers to receiving his call?
How did you know what day you would receive it?
thanks.
Melody,
ReplyDeleteThe whole process is pretty fast. It took two weeks from the time the Stake President submitted them. The whole thing is done online and after all of the Dr.'s appointments, it's goes pretty quick.
The Stake President and Bishop will be able to keep track of his progress through the whole process. It makes planning things a lot easier!!!
Such a fun and special time!
Thank you. Our stake president submitted his papers on Feb 2.... this waiting is making us very anxious.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again!!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI live in the Tampa Mission area. I saw your blog from my cousins and decided to click because i want to be prepared and not scared. But anyways... it really is a great mission with an awesome mission president. We've met some great missionaries from the mission in our ward. If your son is ever in our area and serving in our ward, believe me we will take good care of him. We love feeding and taking care of the Missionaries!! Congrats, and good luck.
Kandie and Steve . . . You made my day! I read your comment to Chris and he was so excited. It's nice to know there are great people like you out there. It definately eases a mother's heart!
