Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!

IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING . . .
My son has been an Elder since November
and he will finally get his mission call
TOMORROW!!!
We've had lots of tears at the Smith house lately.
(Not usually something you see in a house full of boys!)
We've had . . .
Happy tears because we now have a beautiful
piece of property.
Sad tears because I no longer have any storage
and we miss our old house and neighbors.
Happy tears because we bought a canvas garage to store
a few things in.
Sad tears because it blew two acres away into
our neighbors yard.
Happy tears when we got to meet the new neighbors
and found out they weren't mad that our
garage was on their fence.
Sad tears because my oldest will be leaving
for his mission soon.
Happy tears because he is choosing
to serve the Lord.
All in all . . . I think things are going pretty well.
(At least that's what I keep telling myself!)
I'm all about making hard things FUN,
SOOOO. . .
I'm thinkin' it's time for a CONTEST!
We will be making guesses as to where we think
Chris' mission call will be.

You might as well join in with your guesses.
The closest one to the actual place
WINS
A Spiral Bound
Here's What We Did This Year Journal!

Woot . . . Woot!
. . .Winners will be announced Thursday Morning. . .

  2. Can I tell you how happy I am that you are back online? I've missed this blog and all the great ideas! Sorry about the flying garage. That's why we've never bought one even though we need the storage too. I'm afraid it will end up on top of the mountain behind our house!

As for a mission call, how about the good ol' Canada Calgary mission...although the BEST part of the mission is BC not Calgary!

  13. My nehpew has been friends with Chris, and I know it would make my sister the happiest mom in the world if her son would "see the light," get a testimony and go on a mission. Sadly, my faith isn't strong enough to even hope for such a miracle. Congratulations on the pending mission call.

  48. I know that the Missionary committee prays on where to send our missionaries and truly know that they go where the Lord wants them to go. But my guess, if I had to choose a mission, it would be Mexico Torreon Mission. What an exciting time for your family! I still have 13 years before I get to have this experience with my own son, maybe only 10 years if my daughter foolows in my footsteps and serves a mission too. I served a Temple Square, and although it wasn't even a choice that I would have made myself, I loved the experience and realized that the Lord knows what he is doing. I learned so much about the gospel and my faith grew so much. So grateful for the experience.

  60. Congrats on your mission call! I remember how long the wait was for me once it was in the house. My mom didn't want to dirty up the kitchen making dinner before we opened it so she ran up to McDonalds. In the drive thru she was behind a car with a Pennsylvania license plate (unusual in Utah). She came home and told me she wanted to change her guess. She thought I was joking when I read I'd been called to serve in Philadelphia! :)

My brother is in the Marshall Islands. He could go there. Send him to San Fran/Oakland and I'll keep an eye on him! ;)
