The 2012 Calendars Are Here!

Here they are....
the new 2012 Calendars!
Here's the PDF:
I'm still working on the Portrait Calendars.
My computer got it's yearly...
just in time for Christmas, VIRUS!
Posting has been a bit of a challenge
for the last week and a half.
Thank You for being patient....
especially with the Bingo Games.
They are my first priority!!!
Thankfully I had Backblaze and I didn't lose
any of my files.

Calendar Pages!

I know I totally missed getting the January calendar to you.
It was a CrAzY month for sure!
We completely packed up our house
so that we could replace the baseboards, carpet and paint.
(A necessity after having to tear out the cement in the basement!)
After a LONG WEEK and a HALF
we were finally able to unpack and start
trying to get back to a somewhat normal life
and then it happened . . .
my DSL line was fried in a power surge, fixed that
only to find that the first time I turned on the computer,
I just happened to download a virus
that completely killed it.
There was seriously NO CHANCE of
bringing the big fella back this time!
It was time for a replacement.
My Christmas present was a new computer . . . YAY!
The only problem,
my husband made me wait until Christmas to open it.
Bless his heart!
I truly believe he enjoyed every minute of it!
It's a good thing I'm totally in love with that cute guy!!!
Christmas FINALLY came and we hooked up the computer
as soon as we finished breakfast.
This would be the time I usually take a Christmas morning nap.
(My boys are early risers!)
With great excitement, I turned on the computer
only to find that it was time now for the monitor to die!
CAN YOU BELIEVE MY LUCK?!?
I finally got a new monitor and with the help of my
friend Valerie, we were ready to go . . .
at least that's what we thought!
After just two days of blogging bliss,
my modem went out.
Aaaahhhhhh!!!!!
All of this was happening while I was trying to unpack.
My husband and I did what we do whenever
we get a little stressed . . .
We took a drive around the neighborhood.
Little did we know,
this would be a ride that would change EVERYTHING!
We just happened to drive down the street to see the sunset
and our favorite view.
To our surprise, we noticed that our dream home
had a FOR SALE sign in front.
(My husband can spot a For Sale sign from a mile away!)
We did a quick u-turn just to make sure we
weren't seeing things.
IT WAS TRUE . . . OUR DREAM HOUSE
WAS FOR SALE!
We took a tour the next day.
We put a bid in a week later . . . it was a low bid,
but we just had to pretend to try.
TO OUR SURPRISE . . . THEY ACCEPTED OUR OFFER!
(There were 4 other bids and ours was not the highest.)
My husband and I were in a state of shock!
We had just redone our whole house
and this house is a lot smaller than our other house,
but the land . . . That Was The Deal Maker!
We signed on our new home January 21st!
TIME TO PACK AND UNPACK
ALL OVER AGAIN!
WHAT AN ADVENTURE!!!
So . . . to make a long story short,
that's why you didn't get the January Calendar pages
in January.
BUT NOT TO WORRY . . .
Here They Are:
(I'm hoping better late than never applies here!)

Here's the PDF:

(It's still loading . . . . )
Something keeps happening to the PDF when I load it.
I think it's too big, so I'm going to break it down into
smaller parts.  I'm going to try to do a video
so that I can show you how to put the book together
and how to use it once it's done.
Thank You all again for being so amazingly patient.
You're AWESOME!
Wowie Wow Wow Wow
That's a lot of Organizing!
I LOVE IT!!!
Now To Explain How It Works:
This is where I wish I could have you all just come
on over to my house with your Day Keeper and I would
show you exactly how it works.  It's so much easier to
explain in person . . . but I'll do my best.
You can always ask me questions if it doesn't make sense.
It's alot easier to do than it is to explain . . .
I PROMISE!
We'll start with the . . .
Reminders
This section is checked EVERYDAY.
This section includes:
Important Names and Numbers - 2 pages
Authorization for Treatment of a Minor
Babsitter Information
The pages above are in the front of the book behind the
Reminders Tab.  If you have to leave your children at home
alone or with a babysitter, they will have the
Emergency Information right there!
This section also includes:
Our Family Mission Statement
Our Family Goals
"Here's What We Did This Month" Journal Pages
A place for Birthday Cards
as well as Birthday and Anniversary Reminders.
Wants, Needs and Sizes pages for each of the members
of your family
Visiting Teaching Information
The Visiting Teaching Message for the month
Home Teaching Information
and the Home Teaching Message for the month.
2010 Holidays and School Vacations
Holiday Traditions and Ideas for the Month
My Weekly, Monthly . . . etc. Overview Pages
which will help you to remember to schedule
Dental Check-Ups, Yearly Physicals . . . etc.
and last but not least
a Calendar!
The Calendar PDF was included in the first set of
Day Keeper Pages.

Routines
This section is checked EVERYDAY as well.
This section includes:
Your Daily Quick Clean Schedule
A Daily Quick Clean is:
A 5 minute pick-up in each room . . . EVERYDAY!
Use a timer and let your kids be the runners in charge
of returning misplaced items to their place.
Don't leave that room until the timer goes off!
You have a place to list your Daily Routines for
Morning and Evening.
Routines are like house cleaning Auto Pilot!
It may take a little time to find your best routine,
but stick with it . . . a good routine will make all the difference.
I also included my Kids Routines.
The "This Week's BEST Worker Award" Page
This is awarded weekly along with a
No Chores for the Day card!
The next part is My Kids Jobs.
I use two baseball card page protectors.
My house is broken up into zones.
Each of the kids is assigned a zone with is rotated weekly.
Each baseball card page protector has 9 pockets.
3 rows or 3.
Each child has one row.
The first pocket is for their Picture,
The second pocket is for their Jobs, and the
Third pocket holds their Allowance Receipt.
The Extra Money Job List comes next.
After the kids finish their regular jobs
(which they do for FREE)
they have a chance to do jobs for money.
Now if they need money . . . they just check the list!
This is followed by my Running Project List.
This list helps me to GET THINGS DONE!
I list all of my projects and add them to my
Days of the Week Spread Sheets.
I also have a list of Items on Loan.
Followed by,
Garden Zones and
Lawn and Garden Reminders.
To finish this section, I added a place
for Our Family Mission Statement and
Fun FaMiLy Photos!
Because My Daily Focus for Monday is
My Family, the photo page is what is on the other
side of my Monday Tab.
This is a Daily Spread Sheet.
You have one for each day of the week.
This is my plan for Monday:
These are the Items I have listed for Monday:
. . . Left Side . . .
Daily Responsibilities and Schedules:
Breakfast
Family Prayer & Scripture Study
Morning Routines - Walk Babes!
Daily Quick Clean - Daily Meal Plan
Meals and Menu Planning
Grocery Shopping
Family Home Evening
FHE Journal Page
Evening Routine
Day Keeper:
Check Calendar and To Do Lists
Family Prayer
My Personal Scripture Study & Prayer
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Laundry: Bedding and Towels
Good Clean:
Kitchen(s)
Guest Bedroom
Lawn and Garden - Zone 1
So, the only pages that go in this section are
the ones that are on the list!
Starting with My Breakfast Repeat,
Breakfast Repeat Options,
Main Dish Menu Options,
Side Dish Menu Options,
Dessert Menu Options,
Bag Meal Cards,
and Mix Meal Cards.
I put the cards into baseball card page protectors.
I'm just giving you a sample page . . . the rest will come
Next Month!
I also included a calendar page in this section so that
I could keep track of what we ate during the month.
The Weekly Menu Planner comes next
followed by the Weekly Shopping List.
I also included a Monthly Emergency Preparedness
Planning and Purchase Sheet,
A Rotating FHE Planner with Family Pictures,
Our Family Home Evening Journal and
Photo Page.
. . . Right Side . . .
I added two Post-It Notes to the right side under
To Do Lists.
This is where you write the EXTRAS.
The things that aren't on your regular schedule.
Like kid's birthday parties, dance recitals . . . etc.
The Second Post-It is for Phone calls that need to be made,
or Phone Messages that need to be passed on
to other family members.
The Day's Menu is written with a wet-erase marker,
as well as my Daily Focus Plans and my
Project for the Day.
 That's it for my Monday!
REMEMBER,
YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE EVERY PAGE.
JUST USE THE ONE'S THAT APPLY TO
YOUR FAMILY!
All of the pages have been included to give you
as many options as possible!
Each Day's Spread Sheet tells me what should be
included in that section.
I've included my Day's of the Week Pages,
but I won't bore you with the details.
You can click on them if you want to see the details.
Let me know if you want me to post each of the other
Daily Spread Sheets  like I did for Monday.
I'm happy to do it if it will help!

Each night before bed, I pull out my Day Keeper.
I hit the purple sections first and then I fill out
my Daily Spread Sheet.
It only takes about 10 minutes!
I hope that helps you to know how the Day Keeper works.
I only focus on ONE DAY OF THE WEEK at a time.
It's like eating the whole "HOMEMAKER ELEPHANT"
when we try to do everything everyday.
Just do the things you have on that day . . . and save the rest
for the other days of the week.
I'm sure you will have questions, and I'm sure I've
forgotten to explain something,
But this post already goes on for Eternity
so I'll just wait to hear from YOU!
Happy Organizing!

It's Feeling Like a Day Keeper Kind of Day!!!

It's Coming . . .
It's just taking me a minute to load!

A House of Order: Day Keeper Pages!

My friend Valerie Bybee did the nicest thing!
She made it so that YOU can now type YOUR information
in the pages I previously made for the Day Keeper.
I know . . . she's AWESOME!
Here's the new PDF:
If you've already printed them from the first PDF,
NO WORRIES! . . . They are still the exact same pages,
this PDF just gives you the option of typing the information
instead of filling them out by hand.
She is going to do the same the next set of
Day Keeper pages, so give me just a second to get
the rest of the pages to her.
Thanks Again for your help . . . Bybes!

Oops!
I sent you MY Breakfast Repeat . . . Here's a blank one for you:
You're getting closer to putting your books together.
The great thing about the Day Keeper is that
you only print the forms you want to use.
I'll show you how to put them together in tomorrow's post.
Here are a few pictures of what the
Days of the Week Pages look like.
I'll be able to explain how they work alot easier
once you've opened the PDF and been able to see
the forms.
NOTE:
I had put Presentation Books on the Supply's Needed List
in an earlier post. That will be used for the Family Phone Book.
You will definately want to get a 3-ring binder for the
Day Keeper!
(I'm sorry about the mix-up . . . but we will still be using the
Presentation Books, just not for a minute.)
Here's a Finances Tab . . . Just in case you would like one:
I think I will be able to finish posting the forms tomorrow . . .
and then the Day Keeper will be DONE!

A House of Order and FUN: Day Keeper Part 1!

Are you ready to get started?!?
This is something I've been working on for a few years.
I have a background in organizing
and have been organizing since 1989.
Durring that time, and I have had the opportunity
to work with lots of different women
in every season of life.
We have alot on our plates and it's not always easy
to get everything on our list done.
Especially if our lists are written on
the back of receipts, post-it notes, and old shopping lists.
Hopefully this will help.
(It's been a lifesaver for me and my family!)
The Day Keeper can be adapted to work
for whatever season you're in, including Grandparenting!
Most of my planning is done on a weekly basis.
Even though each day of my week has a
different purpose and focus,
the daily format is very consistent.
Consistency IS Key!
If you don't have to think about
Everything Everyday
you will save time and energy.
It's kind of like going into Auto Pilot.
You just do it without thinking!
(And that's actually a good thing when you are running a household!)
So . . . Here WE Go!
Grab some post-it notes and a pen.
Start by listing each of the days of the week on a seperate
post-it. I put mine up on the wall so that I could really
get an idea of how my days looked.
List each of the other tasks you have as a homemaker
on a seperate post-it.
For Example:
Grocery Shopping, Menu Planning, Paying Bills,
Cleaning and Laundry, Yard Care . . . etc.
Next:
List appointments and regular weekly schedules.
Place each appointment under the day it happens.
Include the name of the person(s) involved in the activity
as well as the time and place.
Here's a picture of what mine looks like:
Once you have this part complete, you can start filling out your
Weekly Overview Sheet:
You are basically transferring what you have on the wall.
I did mine with post-it notes first so that I could move
different assignments to different days . . . That way
I could make my daily work load a little bit more even.
I didn't want to have to deep clean
Bathrooms and the Kitchen on the same day.
I do a quick pick-up in all the rooms, but I deep clean
certain rooms on certain days.
This information is then transfered to the
Days of the Week Pages!

Here are the PDF files:
It might seem like you are doing a lot of extra work to set this
Family Organizing System up . . . but I promise, this is the best
way to put it together and have it be unique to
YOUR FAMILY'S NEEDS.
That's all the homework for today!
Tomorrow we will start to assemble the book,
and YES, you'll finally get to see what it looks like.
I just want you to be able to complete each
section before you move onto the next.
NO UNFINISHED PROJECTS FOR US!!!
