Camp Kitchen Organizer!

Today's Project
is a
Camp Kitchen Organizer!
My friend Crystal Cheney shared it with me
and I have to tell you...
This thing is AWESOME!
It's a great way to organize
EVERYTHING
you will need to cook and prepare meals . . .
OUTDOORS!
Here's What You'll Need:
A Tool Organizer
There are a couple difference types.
One will fit over and around the top of a 5-gallon bucket.
The other looks like the one in the picture above.
Either one will work great.
(She found the one in the picture at Home Depot.)
You will also need Cooking Supplies.
Check through your drawers for extras, or purchase
a few things each month.
The dividers make it nice for organizing:
Spatulas
Tongs
Spices and Seasonings
Salt and Pepper
Spoons
Basters
Knives
Ladles
Measuring Cups and Spoons
Egg Timer
Hot Pads
Kitchen Shears
Funnel
and whatever else you use in your kitchen!
It will hold everything you need
but the kitchen sink!!!

Easy and Efficient
and in an Emergency Situation
I have a feeling this would come in
pretty handy!
...Thanks Crystal...
Thanks to the Hoytsville Girls
for letting me hang out with you last night.
What a GREAT group of LADIES!

Start at the very beginning . . .

I would encourage those of you who are new to this blog,
to start from the very beginning.
Almost every day in 2010
I posted something that you could do
to help
PREPARE YOUR FAMILY
both SPIRITUALLY and TEMPORALLY.
This year has been CrAzY for me and I
haven't been able to post as regularly as I would like,
but being PREPARED and helping others to
become better prepared is so important to me.
I hope you will take the time to review
last year's posts.
Up-date your kits, practice fire safety,
earthquake safety, and emergency evacuations,
as well as practicing provident living.
I only have 8 more days until my oldest son leaves
for his mission.  WOWWIE!
I'm hoping life will settle back into some kind
of a routine shortly after so that I can get back to posting
on a regular basis!
When that happens . . .
You Can Look Forward To Seeing:
The rest of the Bag Meals,
Family Home Evening Lessons,
Preparedness Projects,
Food Storage Recipes,
Family Activities,
Date Night Ideas,
Gardening, Dehydrating, and Sprouting Hints,
Practical Preparedness Plans,
Organizing Hints and Helps,
More with Vital Records,
and
Holiday Games and Ideas.
I truly believe that becoming prepared is a process.
Make it a part of your day...
 EVERYDAY!
Each day we can do something.
It doesn't have to be an all day event.
It can be as easy as... checking the batteries in your
flashlight or taking a few minutes to  collect
some important documents.
Starting in May
I will give be posting a
Preparedness Assignment Each Day.
365 ASSIGNMENTS IN ALL!
Are YOU up for the Challenge?
I can't wait!!!
Check back later for an AMAZING IDEA
that I got from my friend Crystal Cheney!
(Who by the way . . . is a PREPAREDNESS ROCKSTAR!)
It's EASY and CLEVER!

Ark Prep 101 - Long Term Food Storage!

Long Term Food Storage
This is the section that usually makes people
a little nervous.
But not you . . . If you are using Rice or Pasta
in any of your meals,
you're ALREADY using
LONG-TERM FOOD STORAGE!
Long-Term Food Storage is easy to incorporate into
your everyday meals.
Because - You already do it!
Surprised?
Most people are under the impression that
Long-Term Food Storage is just that . . .
Food Purchased and Stored LONG TERM!
(Or at least until you throw it away after a few years because
your sick of moving it or storing it!)
The List of Basics we posted in last weeks Ark Prep 101
includes many of the Long Term Food Storage Items.
To find out how much Long-Term Food you will need to store . . .
We recommend you start with the
Food Storage Calculator.
Here's the Link:
Food Storage Calculator
Record the amounts on the form below.
Food Storage Recommended Amounts PDF
You may want to get a 3-Ring Binder to keep
Inventory, Shopping Lists, and
Food Storage Quantities . . .etc. ORGANIZED!
This will be our Wednesday's Preparedness Project
along with some FUN St. Patrick's Day Ideas!
Long-Term Food Storage can also be purchased
in Pre-Packaged Meals.

I would recommend you try the meals individually
before you invest in a year's worth.
This investment can cost thousands of dollars,
so make sure you're family will eat it first!
Freeze Dried Fruits and Vegetables
are a great addition to the Long-Term Basics.
These items can be expensive as well,
but would be a great addtion to the basic items
you have stored.
They even have freeze dried meats and cheese!
Wowie . . . that's impressive.
You can make anything taste better with CHEESE.

We will continue to post recipes with
long-term food storage ingredients.
Store Long-Term Food Storage in a
COOL, DRY PLACE.
Long-Term Foods do not need to be rotated as often,
but they are Inexpensive, Healthy, and Delicious
so you might as well give them a try!
Homemade Bread is a great example of
something you can make by using your
Long-Term Food Storage.
Everything you need to make it
will be right on the shelf.
All you need now is a great recipe!

Always remember to start with the BASICS and
go from there!
