Happy Thanksgiving!

Yay! It's finally here!
HaPpY ThAnKsGiViNg
Everyone!
I made a last minute game that I
thought I would pass along...
It's a TURKEY BOWL!
. . . or . . .
Bowling for Turkey's!
Here's the PDF:
To play the game you will need:
10 Bottled Waters
The Printed PDF
Double-sided Tape
and
A Grapefruit-sized Ball
Instructions:
Print
Cut
Laminate
Remove the labels from the water bottles.
Wrap the papers around the water bottles where the lables
used to be and you're good to BOWL!
(I used the double-sided tape to attach the turkey labels.)
The kids...young and old will love this one!
Have A GREAT Day!

It's the MOST GRATEFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

I love NOVEMBER!
Not only is it my birthday month,
(Woot...Woot!)
but it's the one time of the year we get to just...
BE THANKFUL!
Here's a fun way to display what you are thankful for as a family.
It's a Gratitude Banner!
Here's what you'll need to do:
Print...Laminate...Cut...
and Attach the banner pieces to a ribbon!
You can use hot glue, or colored staples to attach the
banner pieces to the ribbon.
Leave extra ribbon on each of the sides so you can
hang it up.
Each day have each of the members of your family write what
they are grateful for on one of the fall leaves which are
included in the Give Thanks Banner Packet!
The leaves can be clipped to the banner
using glitter covered clothes pins.
I used the medium sized clothes pins, but
the larger ones look cute too!
By the time Thanksgiving
comes around,
your banner
will be filled with blessings!
Here's the PDF:
To make clothespins you will need:
Glitter
Aqua Net Hair Spray
Modpodge
and
A Sponge Brush
Instuctions:
Paint one side of the clothespin with Modpodge.
Sprinkle glitter while it's wet.
Allow to dry.
Spray with Aqua Net to keep glitter in place!
More to come!

9 Posts Down . . .

STILL MORE TO COME!
Most of the ideas can be completed in
less than an hour,
so you should have plenty of time
to get things done before
Thanksgiving!
WOOT . . . WOOT!
Thank YOU for being so patient
with me and my ever present
internet problems.
Just when I think I have things
figured out . . . another
challenge comes my way!
It keeps life from getting boring
FOR SURE!
Happy Almost Thanksgiving Everyone!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

You will Need:
Ribbon
Double Sided Tape
A Printed Copy of the PDF
Here it is:
Gratitude Binderclip Placecards
and
2-inch Binder Clips
(One for each of your guests.)
They cost around $1.50 @ Walmart.
To Make the Place Cards:
Cut out the papers
And leaves found on the PDF.
I inked the edges of the papers
And the leaves with a brown ink.
Cover the bottom of the binder clip
With any of the inked papers.
You can use double sided tape
To attach the papers to the clip.
Tie ribbons up one side of the silver
Part of the clip.
Now you can place a leaf
With the person’s name in between
The top of the two clips.
Photos can be added in place of leaves
If you have one for everyone
On hand.
You can bling these up if you
Would like, or just leave them
Like they are.
Either way . . . they are a stinkin’ cute
Way to make your
dinner guests feel welcome!
Pictures are coming soon!

Gratitude Garland

A Gratitude Garland is a great way to display
The things you are grateful for.
Each person will get a leaf and the opportunity
To list the things they are grateful for.
All of the leaves will be added to the garland
with the Clothespins.
It’s the perfect THANKSGIVING decoration!
I know that all of these Thanksgiving ideas
Are coming about as close to Thanksgiving
As possible, BUT there is an up side . . .
EVERYTHING IS ON SALE!
Woot Woot!
The fall garlands have been marked down
40-60% so you can pick one up for not
Very much money at all!
HOW COOL IS THAT!?!
To Make This Project You Will Need:
Sharpie Fine Point Markers
Clothespins
Mod Podge
Gold Glitter
and
A Fall Garland
Here’s The HOW TO:
Print the Fall Leaf PDF.

Here’s the PDF:
Gratitude Garland

Cut out the Leaves.

Use the Mod Podge to attach the
Glitter to the clothespins.
I only covered one side, but you
Can cover both sides with glitter
If you would like.
Have everyone write their
Name and at least one thing they are
Grateful for on the leaf.

The leaves can then be added to the garland
With the clothes pin.
These can be added to each year.
I have leaves that my Grandma and Grandpa Rees
have written on.  My grandparents are no longer
physically with us, but with their leaves
added to our Gratitude Garland,
They are never far from our thoughts!
I am . . . TRULY BLESSED!

Cocoa Puff Turkeys

Yep . . . they’re as good as they sound!
Cocoa Puff Turkey’s are made like
Rice Krispy Squares.
I usually make a large pan of the
Cocoa Puff flavored rice krispy squares.
To Make the Turkeys:
Each person will get a square of the
Rice Krispies.
The goal is to shape the rice krispies into a
TURKEY HEAD AND BODY!
The feathers are made with
Gumdrops and toothpicks,
And the face and gobbler are made
From fruit roll ups and candy corn.
These Turkey’s will keep little hands
Busy for quite a while.
Take pictures of the finished turkeys
To add to the calendar or movie.
You can even have a contest if you want.
Prizes could go to the . . .
Fattest Turkey
Most Colorful Turkey
Tallest Turkey
Most Creative Turkey
Best Use of Gumdrops Turkey
The Turkey with the Most Personality
Or the
“Wow!” That’s Some Turkey!
Pictures coming

Gratitude Candles

So . . . Do you remember the goblets
we added the bling to for
Halloween?
Well, we’re going to be using them again.
Last time we turned them upside down
And set our spiders on the bottom
Of the goblet.
This time, they will be filled half-way
With water and a floating candle.
Place a goblet and candle at each
Place setting.
Have each person light their candle
As they say what they are grateful for.
It’s an AWESOME sight to see all of
The candles lit and the bling
Just makes it that much better!
It truly reminds us of how blessed we are.
If you have small children and are
Worried about a THANKSGIVING FIRE,
WORRY NO MORE!
Instead of using floating candles
and water,
YOU can use the battery operated
Votive candles in the goblet.
(Just don’t add the water!)
Have each person turn their candle
On as they say what they are
Grateful for.
Same effect . . . Less Stress!
Still more ideas to come!
Hope you’re having as much fun
As I am!!!

Tom Blessings Bingo

Is a staple at our Thanksgiving Day
Celebration.
Each person brings a
WRAPPED DOLLAR STORE GIFT!
These gifts will become the
Bingo Game PRIZES!
We have lots of littles in our family
So we have two bingo boards.
FEAST is for the Adults
And
TOM is for the Littles!
There is one thing you might want
To remember if you want to
get your prize . . .
You have to say, “FEAST” when you
Have 5 in a row instead of
“Bingo!”
If you forget . . . you have to wait
until you get another 5 in a row
to collect the goods!
LOVE IT!
Here’s the PDF:
FEAST:

TOM:

 CALLING CARDS:

Thanks to Valerie for adding the pics
To the game boards!
NOTE:
You can use white elephant gifts
For the Bingo prizes to keep things
Even cheaper!

Turkey Hunt

I love being around kids!
The things they do and say bust me up
and the way they get excited about the
Holidays is definitely something well
Worth watching!
My Thanksgiving job is usually
entertaining the kids.
I get as excited as they do . . . so it’s the
perfect thing for me to be in charge of .
One year I was in charge of the pies.
I was soooo excited!
I made 15 pies and loaded them in the car to
take to Henefer.
ON the way . . . we noticed a family that
had been stranded because of car problems.
I told Dave to stop so that I  could see what
we could do to help.
We gathered all the money we could find
and left them with a pie.
I thought they would love a little
bit of pumpkin pie while they waited for
their tow truck.
When it came time to present the pies
to my family . . . I was OOBER excited.
They looked awesome!!!
My Dave took the first bite and looked at
me with the most puzzled look on his face.
He asked me what type of pie I had made.
“PUMPKIN,” of course!
I took a bite to see why he would ask.
“GOOD NIGHT AND LITTLE FISHES!”
It tasted like squash!
I had forgotten the sugar!
I immediately thought of the cute little
family on the side of the road.
They probably thought I was trying
to poison them!
Bless their hearts . . . I felt soooo bad!
So long story short . . .
I am now permanently in charge of
The games!
Woot . . . Woot!
The kids just think it’s because I’m the
FuN Aunt, I’m sure!
I am still allowed to make
cream pies or fruit pies so that’s good!
The littles always love to hunt for things,
So a TURKEY HUNT is a must at
Our house every year!
Here’s what the Turkey’s look like:

To Make the Game:
Print the Turkey’s
Laminate and Cut Them Out
Attach the Turkey’s to Tongue Depressors
And You’re Ready to Go!
Now all you have to do is hide them in the yard
And turn the kids loose!
Each of the Turkey’s have different
colored tail feathers.
I did that so that we could do prizes
at the end of the game.
I put the prizes into cellophane bags.

I add a turkey tag
(which is included in the PDF)
to each bag.
The kids can grab the match to their
Turkey!
I use the card below to keep track
Of the Turkey’s that have been found.
This is laminated and marked with a
Dry erase marker!
The kids love to see what turkey’s have been
Found, and what turkey’s are left!

Super Fun . . . Super Easy . . . and a great
Way to keep the kids entertained!
Here's the PDF:

Pin the Gobbler on the Turkey!

The first idea I had for this was to pin the feathers
on the Turkey, but...
Turkey's are covered with feathers!
PIN THE GOBBLER on the TURKEY
Now that's a bit more of a challenge!
You can use the Turkey and feathers from the
PLUCK THE TURKEY GAME
if you would like the game to be less of a challenge for little ones
or if you just want a variety.
Either way...the object is to have FUN!
Here's the BIG FELLA, Himself:

and
Here Are His Gobblers:

Here's the PDF:

This is also a large PDF.
I go to good ole' Alphagraphics to get mine printed
and laminated at the same time.
Instructions:
Cut the laminated game pieces.
Mount the Turkey on the wall with Poster Tack.
Add some Poster Tack to the back of the Gobblers,
and you're ready to play!
Don't Forget the blind fold!
HINT:
If you have a mix of older and younger kids,
you can put the older ones in charge of some of the games.
It's a great way to get everyone involved.
Make sure you have separate activities as well
and your teens will be much more willing to help out!

PLUCK...The Turkey!

PLUCK THE TURKEY!
This is a Thanksgiving Hangman
and a great way to get pre-teens and teens
involved in the day's activities.
You have to use words that have to do with this
specific holiday.
(OK...you don't have to, but it's definitely more fun!)
Instead of slowly hanging a stick figure,
you will be plucking the turkey.
If you guess the word before all your feathers are gone...
YOU WIN!
If NOT...You're the Thanksgiving Dinner!
Above is a picture of the word card.
This page is laminated so that dry erase markers can be used.
Here's the Plucked Turkey:
Here are His Feathers:
The Game Also Comes With An Instruction Card:
The PDF prints out to be an 11"x17"
so it can be used in larger groups.
I also did a smaller version so that you can
print it from home.
Here is the 11"x 17" PDF file:
Here's the 8"x 10" PDF:
Good Luck!

Don't Eat Tom!

Don't Eat Tom the Turkey!

This is just a Thanksgiving version of the
DON'T EAT FRANK game
I made for Halloween.
Here's the Link to That Post:
Candy Corn...Gumdrops...or any other candy
will work to cover the squares.
The little ones will LOVE this one!
Here's the PDF:
Don't Eat Tom Game Packet PDF
The game comes in 5"x7" as well as 8"x10"
Next Up...

GOBBLE!

This is the
THANKSGIVING
Version of YATZEE!
It's called...
Yatzee!
You Will Need:
6 Dice
(I included a PDF for 1 1/2" wooden dice or regular-sized dice.)
Mod Podge
Sponge Brush
Wet Erase Markers
and a
Printed Copy of the PDF
To Make The Game:
Cut the PDF pieces.
Mod Podge the pieces to the dice.
Each dice should have the #'s 2,3,4,5,6, and a letter.
Each row will cover all 6 six sides of the dice.
You will end up with 6 total dice!
Here's the PDF:
Here's the Score Card:
Laminate and use Wet Erase Markers to keep score!
(I get my wet erase markers at Walmart.)
NOTE:
If the person yells, "YATZEE!" instead of "GOBBLE!" it doesn't count!
Have FUN!

Turkey...Turkey...Who's Got the Turkey?

Turkey...Turkey...Who's Got The Turkey?
Is a perfect game for Thanksgiving Day.
Little ones will SIT in a circle and pass the
Turkey and Leaf Tokens.
The person sitting in the middle of the circle is IT,
and has to try and find out who has the Turkey.
You can pass just the Turkey Token, or you can add the leaves
to make the game a little bit more of a challenge.
Here's what goes on the back of the Leaf Tokens:
