It's HOT and I'm sure staying warm
is the last thing on your mind . . .
BUT the time for school clothes shopping is
right around the corner
and that's when the sweatshirts, jackets, and coats
come out in the stores.
(I can't believe how fast summer is FLYING by!)
As you are making your lists,
LAYERING
is definately something you'll want to keep in mind:
Layering is a great way to think of dressing
for cold weather.
Start with Polypropylene Underwear:
Including Hats, Socks, and Gloves:
Next add a Fleece Jacket:
Followed by a Down Coat:
Topped off with a Waterproof Jacket:
Don't Forget . . .
Gloves, Hats, Wool Socks, Scarves,
and
Boots!
The reason for layering is simple!
If it's too Hot . . . a layer can be removed.
If it's too Cold . . . a layer can be added,
keeping a more even core temperature.
Challenge:
Try this out on some of your summer camping trips.
It's usually pretty hot during the day . . .
but in the evening and during the night, it can be freezing,
EVEN in the SUMMER!
The D.I. and other second hand stores are a
great option and will cut down on the cost.
The D.I. will often sell new unused coats.
Space Bags
are a great way to store all of your winter clothing,
and it will allow you to fit the clothing into your
72 Hour Kits alot easier!
