Preserve It . . . Canning Corner: Freezer Corn!

Freezing corn is easy
and something the whole family
can take part in!
Here's what you'll need:
Corn
Knives
Large Pot
(With a colander that fits inside.)
Heavy Duty Ziploc Freezer Bags
and a
Sharpie Marker
To Start:
Husk the corn!
This is where it's nice to have lots of helping hands!
Make sure you get all the strings.
Give the corn a quick rinse under cool water.
Use a knife to cut the corn from the cob.
This can be done before or after blanching, but
it's much easier to handle the cold corn!
You'll have a bowl full of corn before you know it!
Fill large colander with the cut corn and set into
a pot of boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
Run the freshly blanched corn under ice cold water to shock it,
and stop the cooking.
Use a cup to fill the Ziploc bags with corn.
Add a dollop of butter and add the date.
Put bags of corn into the freezer and . . .
YOU'RE DONE!
Sweet corn in the winter is a serious treat!!!
Remember . . .
ENJOY!
