Primary Theme and Scripture FHE:

May Primary Theme:
Primary Scripture for May:
Faith
Is the foundation of the gospel, and is what motivates
us to believe in and worship God.
Repentance
Allows those of us who humble ourselves and have contrite
spirits to be forgiven of and have our sins remitted through
the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Baptism
Takes place by immersion by one having authority.
The very meaning of the word indicates a burial in
the water.  The Savior set the example for us by
being baptized by John the Baptist.
The Laying on of Hands for the
Gift of the Holy Ghost
Is also a fundamental principle taught in the scriptures.
The Holy Ghost will direct and inspire us if we stay in tune
with the teachings of the gospel.
Tonight's FHE is going
to be AWESOME!
We're Playing:
CASH CAB
Family Home Evening Style!
This Family Home Evening
is a TRAVELING FHE.
Everyone will load into the car for a ride in the
CASH CAB.
If you have never seen the show Cash Cab,
here's a quick review:
Cash Cab is a game show on wheels.
The driver asks a series of questions and each
time a correct answer given, money is awarded.
If you answer wrong, you get a strike.
3 strikes and you're out of the cab.
You can do a street shout-out, or ask people on the
street if they know the answer, or you can make a
phone call to find out the answer to the question.
At the end of your destination if you have answered all
of the questions correctly, you can double your money
by answering a bonus question.
Here's the Cash Cab Game . . . FHE Style!
Using the topics listed above, your family will answer
a series of questions pertaining to the 4th Article of Faith.
They will win "Blessings Bucks" each time they answer
a question correctly.
Answer the question wrong and you get a STRIKE.
3 Strikes and YOU'RE OUT . . . unless you repent!
You can Repent by singing 1 verse of your
Favorite Primary Song
(With the windows down!)
Your final destination could be McDonald's for an ice cream
cone, or Dairy Queen for a dilly bar.
The "Blessings Bucks" they earn can be traded in for
their Family Home Evening Treat!
By the way, the Cash Cab is decorated!
You could add a few crate paper streamers and the
Cash Cab signs to the inside
of your car to really make things fun!
Here's the Family Home Evening Lesson PDF:
PDF Includes:
Cash Cab Questions and Answers
Signs to Decorate Your Cash Cab,

 Blessings Bucks,

 and . . . Strikes.
I also included this month's scripture card.
CHALLENGE:
Practice it, Memorize It,
and Mark It in your Scriptures!
If you're trying to save a little cash and would prefer
coming home for treats, here's a great recipe for:
Peach Crumb Cake
(This is a MIX RECIPE!)

3/4 cup Quick Oats
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder

Layer the ingredients in the order given into a wide-mouth
1-quart canning jar.  Pack each layer into place before
adding the next ingredient.
To Make the Crumb Cake:
1 Jar Peach Crumb Cake Mix
3/4 cup Butter or Margarine
1 (29 oz.) can Peach Pie Filling
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Empty contents

I do teach classes. I'm terrible at directions so I usually try to stay pretty close, but I think I can find my way to West Jordan . . . maybe I'll bring a friend, just for safety!
